Maria Karilshtadt, Psy.D., born in Ukraine and having resided in South Florida for two decades, is a licensed psychologist at Delta Psychological Group. She utilizes an eclectic approach in providing individual, family, and group psychotherapy services, in English and Russian, to adults and adolescents dealing with depression, anxiety disorders, grief, adjustment difficulties, interpersonal concerns, and personality disorders. Dr. Karilshtadt also has experience working in an inpatient mental health setting and at a University student counseling center. She has treated individuals with substance use and abuse, eating disorders, and chronic mental illness.

Dr. Karilshtadt also specializes in comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessment with children, adolescents, and adults. Areas of evaluation include ADHD, learning disabilities, giftedness, emotional disturbance, and pervasive developmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Karilshtadt is trained in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), the "gold standard" for autism assessment and for diagnosing pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) across ages, developmental levels, and language skills.

Dr. Karilshtadt received a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Florida and earned a doctorate in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University with a specialization in clinical psychology. Her experience includes training at Memorial Regional Hospital; focusing on individual, group, and family therapy with patients on an inpatient psychiatric unit, and providing individual therapy and assessment services at Nova Southeastern University’s Fischler School of Education and Human Services Center for Assessment and Intervention. Dr. Karilshtadt’s recent research focus included development and implementation of survivor therapy empowerment groups for women who have experienced domestic violence.
