MICHAEL JOCHANANOV, Psy.D.
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Jochananov has a master's degree and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Denver, with specializations in forensic psychology and multi-cultural issues. He is currently licensed to practice psychology in both Florida and Colorado. Dr. Jochananov has been working in the mental health field for close to fifteen years, and his particular areas of expertise include child/adolescent psychology and adult psychology, along with men's issues utilizing mindfulness-based practice. Additionally, he helps those dealing with problems in living such as such as divorce counseling, grief / loss, going to college / college stress as well as other life transitions.
Dr. Jochananov's forensic expertise involves treatment and evaluation in the criminal, juvenile and civil forensic arenas, along with the treatment and evaluation of sex offenders. He offers a variety of forensic assessments including but not limited to: competency to proceed evaluations, mental state at the time of the offence, Guardianship Evaluations, as well as various assessments that address parenting, divorce and custody issues. He completed his Pre-doctoral internship at the Federal Bureau of Prisons and his post-doctoral residency as Clinical Coordinator of the Children's Crisis Stabilization Unit at Citrus Health Network.
Dr. Jochananov has also supervised students during their pre-doctoral internships and clinicians completing their post-doctoral residency at sites approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) at both levels. Additionally Dr. Jochananov provides trainings and in-services on a variety of clinical and forensic topics. He has been a guest lecturer for Miami-Dade public schools as well as the department of probation and parole in New Mexico. Dr. Jochananov is an active member of American Psychology‐Law Society and American Psychological Association.
